Our fertility center team started early, raising awareness throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Our efforts culminated with a strong finish at the 2013 Komen Austin Race for the Cure on November 10. For the third consecutive year, Texas Fertility Center sponsored the Teams Tent, and nearly half of our fertility specialists, nurses and support staff were on hand to cheer for the runners. If you participated in the Race for the Cure, we salute your efforts.
As fertility specialists, we work with women in Austin and the surrounding communities to preserve their fertility after a breast (or other) cancer diagnosis. We see first-hand how fertility preservation restores hope after the devastating news of a cancer diagnosis. To help defray the cost of fertility preservation, Texas Fertility Center works with Fertile Hope and specialty pharmacies to assist patients newly diagnosed with cancer, so that they can receive discounted embryo and egg freezing services. Of the funds raised at the Komen Race for the Cure, 75 percent stays right here in Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis and Williamson counties. Texas Fertility Center is proud to support the efforts that help secure research and treatment options for women facing breast cancer. If you or someone you know has recently been diagnosed with cancer, share our news with them about fertility preservation. Texas Fertility Center works with oncologists to coordinate a fast-track cycle during which we can remove and freeze oocytes (eggs), sperm, embryos or reproductive tissues.
