What to expect with ovarian reserve testing

The Ovarian Assessment Report™ is a unique offering from ReproSource, an industry leader in diagnostic testing for male and female infertility. Texas Fertility Center has partnered with ReproSource to provide this unique fertility assessment to help gauge your egg supply and reproductive health.

This baseline testing can provide peace of mind for any woman considering egg freezing, those with a family history of premature ovarian failure or anyone who would like to potentially delay family-building. You will know more about your reproductive outlook with ovarian reserve testing.

Next steps after enrolling for free ovarian reserve testing

Step 1: Meet with one of our board certified fertility specialists in Round Rock or Austin. At your 20-minute appointment*, we will explain the ovarian reserve testing process and discuss your goals and ideal timeline for starting a family.
Step 2: Take your ReproSource OAR testing kit and completed requisition forms to a CPL lab site. These specialty labs are trained in the collection and transport procedures that ensure accurate and expedient results. Your blood must be drawn on Day 2, 3 or 4 of your menstrual cycle.
Step 3: Your results should be available within 7-10 business days and will be reported to your TFC doctor.
Step 4: Follow up with Texas Fertility Center to discuss the results of your ovarian reserve testing. Using ReproSource’s proprietary predictive algorithm, you will receive a score that can either provide peace of mind as you delay motherhood, or a starting point for treatment or preserving your fertility.

Think of ovarian reserve testing as you would cholesterol, blood pressure and BMI

Taking proactive steps to protect your family-building potential starts with good data. Like a woman’s health and wellness check-up that provides essential numbers for cholesterol, blood pressure and weight, a fertility assessment can position you to take steps now to overcome a low ovarian reserve. Preventative care is always a better option than reactive treatment.

*You will visit with one of our fertility specialists for a 20-minute fertility consultation.  Most insurance plans provide coverage for diagnostic services and initial consultations. If you don’t have insurance coverage, the cost of the 20 minute fertility checkup appointment is $117.00.  If you have been trying to get pregnant for 12 months or longer, we can set aside more time to meet your needs. Longer appointments may be booked and are subject to higher costs.
