How does our team provide fertility care for the military?

Like civilians, members of the U.S. Armed Forces can face a wide variety of female and male fertility challenges. Not only that, but military members can also develop infertility due to combat injuries or other environmental factors. Our Austin fertility clinic is prepared to fight back against these fertility issues by offering a number of treatments.

Diagnostic testing allows our doctors to identify any barriers to family building. Testing for women typically involves bloodwork and an ultrasound and men will undergo a semen analysis. Your doctor may also order other forms of testing to help reach an accurate infertility diagnosis.

Fertility treatments range from basic to advanced. When possible, we like to start the treatment process with options like fertility medications and intrauterine insemination (IUI). However, we do offer more-advanced treatments like in vitro fertilization (IVF), donor eggs, donor sperm and preimplantation genetic testing (PGT-A).

Fertility preservation can be a great option for men and women who want to preserve their reproductive materials before deployment. Our Austin fertility clinic offers an advanced laboratory that can freeze eggs, sperm and embryos, and then thaw them for later use in fertility treatments.

In addition to providing proven and highly effective fertility care for the military, we help our patients who serve or have served in the armed forces in another way. We start by finding out what their insurance will cover. Then, we work to connect them with military fertility discounts like Compassionate Care, the Compassionate Corps Program and the Heart for Heroes Program.

Did you know one of our fertility doctors served in the U.S. Air Force?

Our Austin fertility clinic is home to a retired United States Air Force (USAF) colonel. Anthony Propst MD received a U.S. Congressional appointment to the United States Air Force Academy before he attended medical school at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He then completed his OBGYN residency at the David Grant USAF Medical Center in California and his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School.

Today, Dr. Propst is proud to use his unique combination of medical training and experience in the U.S. Armed Forces to provide fertility care for the military. “It’s a true honor to help these brave men and women become parents after they’ve served our country,” he says.
