Patients to Benefit from Larger Pool of Data, Greater Access to Research

Austin, TX – August 19, 2015 – Austin IVF, the largest in vitro fertilization (IVF) laboratory in Central Texas, has received a major private equity investment from funds managed by MTS Health Investors, LLC, a New York based healthcare private equity firm. In addition, they announced the formation of Ovation Fertility, a national network of assisted reproductive technology laboratories headquartered in Los Angeles, California.

Ovation Fertility is committed to advancing industry standards through collaborative partnerships with pioneering physicians and scientists. Austin IVF is one of six U.S. laboratories included in the initial formation of Ovation Fertility. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Dr. Kaylen Silverberg, co-founder of Ovation Fertility as well as Medical Director and co-founder of both Austin IVF and the Texas Fertility Center, says Ovation Fertility’s acquisition of Austin IVF will boost opportunities for women’s reproductive success in Central Texas and beyond.

“Patients will benefit from the integration of an array of technologies and services that are simply not available to individual fertility laboratories”, said Dr. Silverberg. In addition, while all Ovation Fertility laboratories are known for outstanding pregnancy rates, each founding laboratory brings a different strength to the company, from excellence in clinical research to operational and strategic expertise.

Most IVF laboratories in the U.S. are independent entities and, thus, have limited capabilities and markets, explained Dr. Silverberg. Now as an integral part of Ovation Fertility’s network, each Ovation Fertility program will be able to leverage data and industry best practices to create the world’s leading network of IVF laboratories. Ovation Fertility’s Austin-based laboratory will soon add a new suite of services and significantly improve patient access to novel techniques related to IVF, including research and clinical trials.
