Dr. Kaylen Silverberg, a fertility specialist with Texas Fertility Center, has long advocated for making in vitro fertilization (IVF) more affordable and accessible for families. Now, he’s confident that meaningful change is on the horizon, thanks to a presidential executive order aimed at expanding access to IVF and reducing out-of-pocket costs.
In a recent interview with the Houston Chronicle, Dr. Silverberg emphasized that requiring insurance to cover IVF is crucial to ensuring families can afford these treatments. He believes insurance should cover IVF just as it does for other medical conditions.
“On its face, it is patently unfair and patently inequitable,” Silverberg said. “All we’re asking is for similar treatment.”
