Kaylen Silverberg, M.D., provides the perspective of a fertility specialist

The July/August issue of Texas Hospitals magazine contains an interview with a physician from our Austin fertility center. The article, How the Great Electronic Medical Records Mess Happened, is the first in a three-part series about the state of electronic medical records (EMR). Renowned fertility specialist, Kaylen Silverberg, M.D., was interviewed in the article about the use of EMR in fertility care.

According to Dr. Silverberg, “We just oppose electronic medical records because we see no advantages and massive disadvantages.” Our Austin fertility center is committed to keeping patient information secure and ensuring that our fertility specialists have face-to-face, not face-to-screen, interactions with patients. By not adopting an electronic system, TFC is able to honor these commitments to our patients.
