2014 Delivered the Most Successful Year in Fertility Center’s 30-Year History
Austin, Texas – Dec. 31, 2014 – For reproductive endocrinologists, success is measured not only in new babies’ smiles and happy patients, but also in live birth rates and in vitro fertilization data that is required to be reported to the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Looking back on 2014, Texas Fertility Center is pleased to report that it continued its trend of IVF success rates that exceed the national average – combined with multiple pregnancy rates lower than the national average. In addition, the center expanded its fertility footprint to reach even more individuals and couples throughout Central Texas from its five Austin and San Antonio offices.
“In between caring for men and women facing infertility, traveling to Washington DC to advocate for patient rights, leading research and collaborating with colleagues in the U.S. and abroad, we don’t always find time to reflect,” says Dr. Thomas Vaughn. “When we met last week to review the year, it was readily apparent that 2014 was our most successful year on record. In human terms, that means that it will be a very happy New Year for hundreds more parents-to-be.”
A 2014 High Five for Texas Fertility Center
In the past year, Texas Fertility Center focused its efforts on maintaining its high standards for clinical care, contributing to research in the field of reproductive medicine and opening a new South Austin office. TFC’s most successful year ever include the following five highlights:
1. Instilling Confidence in the Infertility Community.
In 2014, the TFC Austin and San Antonio fertility centers reported a significant increase in patient volumes. The number of OB/GYNs, oncologists, urologists, and primary care physicians referring their patients to TFC continued to rise, but at an even faster rate. Men and women experiencing infertility obviously feel confident in their decision to partner with the only reproductive endocrinologists in Austin recognized by Best Doctors™ in America, and a physician team that includes the founder of Austin’s first IVF program, a SART U.S. Clinical Director, and a former Chief Consultant to the USAF Surgeon General.
2. Honing Surgical Expertise as Reproductive Surgeons.
The number of surgical procedures performed by TFC physicians continued to grow in 2014, with TFC reproductive surgeons performing minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques to preserve and restore fertility. TFC has taken a leadership role in educating the Austin and San Antonio communities on the importance of choosing a reproductive endocrinologist for surgeries involving the delicate organs of the female reproductive tract.
3. Expanding Services into South Austin.
In the last 12 months, Texas Fertility Center has opened its fifth Central Texas location. The new South Austin office, under the leadership of board certified reproductive endocrinologist Natalie Z. Burger, M.D, is convenient to Mopac, Circle C and the communities of Buda, Kyle, and San Marcos.
4. Investing in Top Talent.
Having established a reputation as one of the country’s most innovative and effective fertility centers gains TFC access to industry-leading physicians, nurses and clinical care professionals. In 2014, TFC opened a new South Austin office, and expanded its San Antonio fertility center facilities and staff. TFC San Antonio has thrived under the direction of lead physician Dr. Erika Munch.
5. Embracing a Holistic Approach to Fertility Treatment.
Texas Fertility Center physicians recognize the importance of a mind-body connection that affects overall health and fertility. TFC is pleased to announce that it has incorporated an on-site acupuncture and complementary medicine program, proven effective in clinical studies, into its new South Austin practice.
“Coincidentally, in early 2014 we were able to announce the birth of the 23,000th baby resulting from TFC fertility treatment,” adds Dr. Kaylen Silverberg. “Growth in our practice and improvements in our treatment protocols have allowed us to now reach a point where our patients are delivering around 1000 babies per year. In addition, as we take pride in the rapid growth of our TFC family, we remain mindful of the importance of providing attentive, compassionate and individualized care as we grow.”
