Acessa Fibroid Study

Acessa Fibroid Study

Fibroid study and a new treatment, Acessa, can give you relief from uterine fibroids

TRUST-study-logo-FBlinkpreviewcrWomen with fibroids may believe that the only treatment option is a hysterectomy so they suffer in silence. However, a new fibroid treatment called Acessa provides relief from fibroids, allows a woman to keep her uterus and experience a quick recovery. Texas Fertility Center is now enrolling women in a fibroid study.

The Acessa procedure is a new type of minimally invasive fibroid treatment that utilizes the latest surgical advances

Using a technology called radiofrequency ablation, Acessa applies energy directly to the fibroid. This FDA-approved fibroid treatment shrinks fibroids of varying sizes without damaging normal uterine tissue. Women get relief from symptoms without compromising fertility.

The Acessa procedure only requires three very small abdominal incisions that are only about ¼” in length.

  • After making the two small incisions, your surgeon will insert a laparoscopic ultrasound probe to see the location and size of your fibroids.
  • With help from ultrasound guidance, your surgeon will insert the Acessa tool into the fibroid and then zap it with radiofrequency.
  • Over time, the fibroid tissue shrinks or disappears.
