Find tips for dealing with infertility on Father’s Day

Tips for men and couples facing infertility on Father’s DayTexas Fertility Center (TFC) knows that dealing with infertility on Father’s Day isn’t easy. This holiday can be painful when you and your partner want nothing more than to bring home a healthy baby. Let our Austin fertility center team provide you with guidance and support as you navigate the path to parenthood.

Tips for men and couples facing infertility on Father’s Day

Our Austin fertility center knows that this day can bring up strong emotions when you’re trying to conceive. It’s common to feel everything from sad, angry, alone or even hopeful. It’s also not uncommon to have these emotions vary from day to day. Embrace what you and your partner are feeling and don’t apologize for it. No one can tell you how you should feel.

In addition to accepting your feelings, the TFC team has some other tips for dealing with infertility on Father’s Day.

  • Change the focus of the day. Father’s Day doesn’t have to be about children. You can make it a time to celebrate your father or grandfather. Or you can take this day to relax and recharge with your partner. It can be empowering to change the focus of the day.
  • Don’t feel guilty about cancelling plans. It’s okay if you don’t feel up for going to a family event and seeing children or fielding questions about your parenthood plans. Give yourself permission to cancel if that’s what you need.
  • Talk it out with someone you trust. Nothing good ever came from bottling up feelings, so talk about them on Father’s Day. Letting your emotions out can be a relief and it can help you become closer to the person you shared them with.

Finally, give yourself permission to not focus on fertility for the day. You can resume your efforts the Monday after the holiday.
