Who Can Benefit From Donor Services

How to benefit from donor services

Third party reproduction refers to the use of donor egg (oocyte), donor sperm and/or gestational carrier services. It can make pregnancy possible for individuals and couples who might otherwise not have options for having a child. Let’s learn who can benefit from donor services.

Texas Fertility Center provides a variety of donor services – including an in-house donor egg program, which allows us to retain control over the screening process. Our fertility specialists identify good candidates for donor services during infertility testing and treatment.

Who could benefit from donor services?

Donor eggs can help many couples and women facing female fertility issues. Gay men and single men can also benefit from donor services.

  • Advanced maternal age (over 35-40)
  • Premature ovarian failure
  • Women without ovaries
  • Women who carry inheritable genetic diseases
  • Poor response to ovulatory induction or repeated IVF failure
  • Gay couples and single men

Donor sperm is an excellent option for lesbian couples and single women. It can also assist men and couples who are facing barriers to conception.

  • Severe issues with sperm count and function
  • Anatomical issues (e.g. blocked ejaculatory ducts)
  • Men who carry inheritable genetic diseases
  • Ejaculatory dysfunction
  • Lesbian couples and single women

Gestational surrogacy provides a beautiful opportunity for patients who cannot carry a pregnancy.

  • Women without a uterus
  • Patient for whom pregnancy could be medically contraindicated
  • Rpeated IVF failure
  • Women with uterine scarring or other anatomical abnormality

** Texas law prohibits traditional surrogacy, in which the birth mother shares a genetic and biological link with the baby by providing her own eggs. ** With gestational surrogacy, the eggs come from the intended mother or an egg donor.
