Dr. Silverberg discusses COVID-19 transmission to babies during pregnancy with KVUE

As the number of novel coronavirus cases continues to rise in the United States, more pregnant mothers worry about their babies. After a small Italian study suggested that COVID-19 transmission to babies can occur in the womb, these fears increased. KVUE recently interviewed Kaylen Silverberg MD to gain his thoughts on the study.

Dr. Silverberg stressed that the Italian study of 31 women is too small to draw solid conclusions from. While he recommends that pregnant women take precautions to avoid contracting the virus, he said we need more data before we start to worry about in utero transmission.
