Texas Fertility Center and Ovation Fertility™ Sponsor RESOLVE Advocacy Day Grant

Austin, TX (March 27, 2018) – Texas Fertility Center (TFC) and Ovation Fertility have announced that they are co-sponsoring a grant of up to $1500 for a TFC/Ovation Fertility  patient to attend RESOLVE Advocacy Day 2018. This grant will cover airfare, hotel and incidental expenses for one TFC/Ovation Fertility patient and a guest to attend and lobby with the Texas delegation in Washington, D.C. Kaylen Silverberg, MD, an Austin-based reproductive endocrinologist and longtime champion of increasing patient access to affordable fertility care, will lead the Central Texas delegation.

RESOLVE Advocacy Day 2018 will take place on May 23. Dr. Silverberg regularly attends the annual event, which provides an opportunity for the infertility community to speak to members of Congress about important issues in reproductive care, including increased insurance coverage for infertility.

“Every member of Texas Fertility Center shares a commitment to providing exceptional fertility care that is as accessible as possible to every person suffering from infertility,” Dr. Silverberg says. “We realize that it can be difficult for many hopeful parents to afford the fertility testing and treatment they need to become parents, so we lobby corporate executives, as well as our elected representatives at the local, state and national levels, for increased infertility awareness and insurance coverage.”

Because fertility patients understand the struggles of infertility firsthand, the event encourages them to attend and speak with members of Congress. The event includes lobbying workshops in which Dr. Silverberg and other experienced advocates teach attendees how to effectively lobby their members of Congress.

“Not everyone has the resources or skills to attend Advocacy Day, so Texas Fertility Center and Ovation Fertility have teamed up to help one interested person attend this special event and make his or her voice heard on Capitol Hill,” Dr. Silverberg said.

To apply for the grant, applicants must submit their fertility stories in written, video or photo-collage format to TFC by April 12, 2018, at 5 p.m. CST. Men and women in all stages of the fertility treatment process are encouraged to submit a story. All patient stories received will be collected and shared with elected representatives in Washington, D.C.
