Many pregnant women and their loved ones are worried about the coronavirus and pregnancy. To fight fear with facts, KXAN recently interviewed Kaylen Silverberg MD about COVID-19 and its effect on pregnant women.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is still trying to determine whether the virus is more likely to make pregnant women and their babies sick. In this time of uncertainty, our Austin fertility doctor discussed some promising research, suggesting that COVID-19 might not pass from mother to infant during pregnancy. However, Dr. Silverberg still advises implementing common sense procedures, including hand washing and social distancing.
